What is brebbia?
The story of Brebbia Pipes dates back from 1947 when Enea Buzzi and his cousin
Achille Savinelli, whose father Carlo managed a shop selling articles for
smokers in Milan, decided to produce pipes. They agreed to sell pipes with the
name Savinelli, exploiting the fame of the shop which was very well known at
that time. They founded a factory at Brebbia, which was already well known for
the manufacture of craft pipes, inlaid or bearing pictures of historic
personages and animals. The factory was built around a hydroelctric center,
one of the first to be built in Italy in 1980. In 1953 Enea Buzzi took over
the property of Brebbia Pipes which is still in the family.
